Through telemedicine, we are now offering comprehensive skin consultations between your patients and the teaching faculty of Worldwide medical schools
Patients have the right to be respected, to receive the highest quality healthcare possible, to be informed about diagnostic studies, risks, and treatment options, confidentiality, privacy, and to voice complaints and grievances. The right patient needs to be truthful and complete in answering all questions about past medical history, provide information about current medical problems being treated by other healthcare providers, and cooperate fully in trying to understand healthcare instructions and treatment programs that have been mutually agreed upon to increase the probability of success.
Pathology is the study of disease. Pathologists are board certified physicians who have completed five (5) years of training after medical school and who oversee laboratories where diagnostic studies of patient samples are analyzed. When your local healthcare provider performs diagnostic studies (cultures, biopsies, etc.) as a part of the workup of your skin disorder, these specimens are sent to a laboratory. Not all laboratories have the same quality or abilities of sending back helpful information to your healthcare provider to further a plan of treatment of your skin disorder. CUBA SKIN INSTITUTE has both local and national resources to provide the right diagnosis of your skin disorder to your primary healthcare provider.
Before patients with a skin problem begin the right treatment plan, the correct diagnosis of the problem must be obtained. The correct diagnosis is based upon fully compiling and evaluating all clinical, radiologic, and pathologic information about the patient. CUBA SKIN INSTITUTE has a growing network of talented licensed healthcare professionals whose humanitarian goal is to deliver fully integrated, cost effective skin disease diagnosis and treatment across as well as healthy skin and skin cancer prevention programs. These professionals include primary healthcare providers, dermatopathologists, pathologists, surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiation therapists. USA citizens or permanent residents of the USA who participate in our humanitarian activities must be authorized to travel to Cuba through the US Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control.Ongoing national research furthers our efforts to continually improve skin disease diagnosis and treatment.
CUBA SKIN INSTITUTE is a non-profit humanitarian public-private effort in healthcare services related to educating people about proper skin care as well as the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions, especially benign skin growths and skin cancers.
